SONY AFRICA RECOGNISES OKYEAME KWAME.
Okyeame Kwame; a household name in Ghana, is making headlines for himself at home around the continent. Okyeame’s song “Woso” featuring Richie, is part of a One Africa – African All Starts Volume 1 compilation, launched by Sony Music Africa in South Africa. The album is a unique blend of prolific and dynamic young Pan African artistes and is aimed at celebrating a United Africa by showcasing the continent as a musical powerhouse.
One Africa – African All Stars, Volume 1, is a great urban contemporary R&B compilation (by anyone’s standards and contains proven hit singles by successful musicians from across the continent, such hits include Tuface, Tay Grin, Sasha; Nneka, to name a few.
Okyeame Kwame; has been hard at work and in studio. His new album, ‘The Clinic’ will be launched later in the year. The artiste will give his fans and supporters a taste of what is to come, with a release of ‘Faithful’ and ‘Versatility’ from ‘The Clinic’ Album. The song will be launched locally on the airwaves and the internet.
Born in 1976, Okyeame Kwame, a graduate of Science and Technology from the Kwame Nkrumah University, is undoubtedly one of Ghana’s finest rappers. As a former member of the Ghanaian rap group ‘Akyeame’; Kwame has since released two solo albums. He has also received a multitude of awards and nominations, including awards from Channel O and Ghana Music Awards. He is also the CEO of One Mic Entertainment, the record label responsible for producing the award winning group Bradez and Morris D’Voice a two-time award-winning sound engineer and currently a remarkable solo singer. Okyeame Kwame is in the studio now directing the album recording of Tattoo, a new up-coming hip-life sensation.
From September, Okyeame will also launch his nationwide tour; organised by Karl Aubyn Multimedia and sponsored by his NGO; Okyeame Kwame foundation and record label - One Mic Entertainment and other tour sponsors such as MTN. The aim of the tour is to educate and create awareness of Hepatitis-B to communities throughout the country while being entertained. Therefore, free hepatitis B screening will be organized for the indigenous of the place.
Okyeame is hoping that by December, his reality TV show, "STILL HUNGRY" will debut on TV, featuring his work and family, basically how he lives his life. Also in the pipeline, is another television show he will be hosting, showcasing the goodness of Ghana.
